Pat Robitaille, a local favourite, will play at Marsh Street Centre in Clarksburg on Feb 25.

The climes do a dance this time of year—typically somewhere between “biting” and “mild and mucky”—so while any month, week or day is ideal for a visit to the theatre, concert hall or tavern, the upcoming season is perhaps especially inviting!
Since the beginning of humanity, select humans have had the hankerin’ to get themselves up in front of the throngs and to entertain—so we built spaces to accommodate and celebrate! In this world of recorded this-and-that, there’s nothing quite so glorious as the experience of live. And lemme tell you, that goes for both sides of the equation! Here are some items on the SGB entertainment calendar I can confidently recommend.
Pavlo
Midland Cultural Centre—Feb 2
Celebrated guitarist Pavlo is a Juno nominee who’s sold over 500,000 albums. His “Mediterranean sound mixing the folkloric styles of Greek, Spanish and Latin music with pop sensibilities” is ideal for warming us from the inside out.
You, Me and a Bit of Driftwood
Roxy Theatre—Feb 23-25, March 1-4
Owen Sound Little Theatre, going strong since 1961, will present this comedic drama about a couple navigating their relationship and family dynamics though an unforeseen period of isolation and disruption. (Sound familiar?) With a cast featuring local playwright Samantha Colwell-Castles, this one ticks a whack of boxes.
Pat Robitaille
Marsh Street Centre—Feb 25
Robataille got his first guitar when he was 11 and left school at 16 to pursue a career in music. Two decades later and counting, this writer/performer has independently released four full-length albums, several EPs as well as music videos. What better place to see and hear this Canadian folk/rock talent than in Clarksburg’s entirely intimate Marsh Street Centre?
Miss Emily Live
Meaford Hall—Feb 25
The Snowed In Comedy Tour
Gayety Theatre—March 21
As the title would suggest: an evening of laughs and chortles—maybe even a guffaw or two—when, Baby, it’s c-c-cold outside. Now in its 13th year, Snowed In has grown to be the largest comedy tour of its kind in Canada, hitting cities from coast to coast with four international comedians coming together to create a unique and hilarious program!
Ron James—Back Where I Belong
