History, Heart and Harmony!

Theatre Collingwood presented the Shipyard Kitchen Party’s Newfoundland Songbook at the John Saunders Centre with a special premiere evening in collaboration with the Ontario Trillium Foundation. It was an unforgettable night of music, laughter, storytelling and perhaps a tear or two. With deep roots in Scotland, Newfoundland, and Georgian Bay, the dynamic group’s high-energy performance brought together rich harmonies, traditional instrumentation, and a playful sense of humour—not to mention a slew of prominent community members—blending East Coast traditional tunes with heartfelt Canadian stories.

Change Was in the Air

Farms for Change is an annual event hosted by the New Farm Centre in Creemore that raises funds to provide local, organic produce to low-income communities and good food organizations throughout Southern Ontario. The foodie-focused event brought together a stellar lineup of guest chefs from beyond the region, and a rockin’ performance by Toronto psychedelic alternative rock band The 99s.

Movies on the Mountain

The Blue Mountain Film Festival kicked off a weekend of film and festivities on May 29th with an après screening party at Tholos in Blue Mountain Village. The weekend continued to offer festival-goers plenty of opportunities to mingle with industry insiders while taking in the robust schedule of international films. Highlighting the celebrations was a stylish Saturday night soirée at the Georgian Bay Room.
