The Town of Collingwood annually honours those who, through their exemplary volunteer efforts within the community, enrich the social, well-being, natural or cultural environment, or recreational character of the Town, by bestowing recipients with the prestigious award of the Order of Collingwood.
The Town also recognizes former recipients of the Order of Collingwood who, through their continued volunteerism and ongoing efforts improve the fabric and character of our community, with the distinguished Companion to the Order of Collingwood Award.
Mountain View Elementary School teacher Sean Rennie is among this years recipients.
Sean has been a member of the Optimist Club of Collingwood for 10 years raising funds for youth programs in the area. Sean also runs the Canada Day kids bike parade and was part of the founding group of the Georgian Bay Titans Rugby Club. For the past five years Sean has been volunteering as the school liaison for the Georgian Triangle Anglers Association. which sets up small fish hatching (trout) aquariums in classrooms at area schools.
